The Yorkshire Terrier (Japanese: ヨークシャー・テリア Yōkushā Teria) is a toy dog breed in Nintendogs and Nintendogs + Cats.
Breed Information[]

Official artwork of the Yorkie
Yorkshire Terriers are a small and fiercely protective breed of lapdog descended from Scottish rat-hunting terriers. The breed is known for its silky coat, its affectionate attitude, and its incredible stubbornness. A Yorkie's feisty bark and sensitivity to intruders lends it an unusual role as a watchdog despite its size, and the energetic nature of the breed makes Yorkshire Terriers excellent playmates.
In-Game Description[]
- Nintendogs: "This English breed is commonly called a Yorkie, and is also nicknamed the 'walking jewel.'"
- Nintendogs + Cats: "Bred in England, the Yorkie is small but strong. It's known for its silky coat."

Trivia[]
- The white Yorkie looks quite similar to a Westie.
- Normally, Yorkies are known to have extremely long fur, similar to the Maltese. However, despite being listed in-game as a long-haired breed, the Yorkies in Nintendogs appear to have shorter hair. The probable reason for this error is that the program used to develop the game couldn't format the long fur. However, this has not been confirmed by developers.
