The Wire Brush (Japanese: スリッカーブラシ Surikkāburashi) is an item in Nintendogs and Nintendogs + Cats that falls under the category of "Care" in the Supplies.

The brush has an orange rubber handle with wire bristles. It is recommended for use on long-haired breeds. If the Wire Brush is used on a short-haired breed, the dog will take longer to clean and won't reach its maximum potential.
Grooming a dog with the Wire Brush generates 1-3 Trainer Points a minute. There is a Trainer Point generation method in which the player must start to brush the dog and then leave the DS on that screen. After a while, the player can quit and see an increase in Trainer Points.
Nintendogs + Cats[]
The Wire Brush is circular with a base of wood rather than rubber. It is recommended for use on long-haired dogs. If the Wire Brush is used on a cat or a short-haired dog, the pet will take longer to clean.
How to Obtain[]
- In Nintendogs, the Wire Brush is available at the start and can be purchased at Pet Supply for $40. It can also be found at the Discount Shop. Since prices vary each time the player visits the Discount Shop, the Wire Brush can range from $20 - $40. It sells for $16 at the Secondhand Shop.
- In Nintendogs + Cats, the Wire Brush can be purchased at the menu BARC for $25. It sells for $10 at the Secondhand Shop.
