StreetPass is a new feature introduced in Nintendogs + Cats and the Nintendo 3DS lineup. It replaces Bark Mode as a way to search for and communicate with nearby players wirelessly.
To activate StreetPass on the Nintendogs + Cats game, the player must register through the Journal. Once registered, the game does not need to be currently playing for StreetPass to work; the 3DS system can be in Sleep Mode or using other software. The notification LED will turn green once game data has been exchanged.
Features
After successfully connecting to another player, their StreetPass info is available in the Journal. Presented in a gift box sticker, it can be opened to view that player's owner/pet info, photo, message, and present they have set.
Puppies can meet up at the park to play with another player's Mii and one of their pets. That player's pet can also appear on walks and in competitions.
If the player meets a dog breed they haven't unlocked yet, it will become available at the kennel.
Presents
Presents given via StreetPass will not be taken out of one's own stock of items.
- Some items like furniture and select clothing items are not available to give to other players.
