The Straw Hat (Japanese: 麦わら帽子 Mugiwarabōshi) is an item in Nintendogs and Nintendogs + Cats that falls under the category of "Accessories" in the Supplies. It is a type of headgear the player can put on their pet.

In Nintendogs, the hat is tan-colored with pieces of straw sticking out around the brim. There is a yellow bow tied onto the hat. In Nintendogs + Cats, the hat is less unkempt, with less loose straw and a red ribbon to replace the yellow original.

In-Game Description

Nintendogs: "Put this on a puppy that longs for the life of the country."
Nintendogs + Cats: "Wear this straw hat on your summer holiday at the sea."

How to Obtain

In Nintendogs, the Straw Hat can only be found uncommonly on walks as a present. It sells at the Secondhand Shop for $9.

In Nintendogs + Cats, it can be bought from the Seaside BARC. It sells at the secondhand shop for $5.
