On 21 March 2006, 13 Nintendogs desktop wallpapers were released on the Nintendo Japan website as a gift to the game's players. The designs include the three main Nintendogs mascots from the Japanese releases of the games - Shiba Inu, Dachshund and Chihuahua.
The wallpapers were also released in Chinese on iQue's website, however some designs were different to the Japanese versions, including the Labrador Retriever. There were only 11 iQue wallpapers. There were also two desktop screensavers made exclusively for Windows PCs, sharing designs with two of the wallpapers.
On 3 December 2015, 9 more wallpapers were released on Nintendo's website, this time for Nintendogs + Cats. The designs include the three main mascots from the Japanese releases of the games - Shiba Inu, Toy Poodle and French Bulldog. They also include three different cats.
