The Japanese Step-Chest (Japanese: 階段たんす Kaidan tansu) is an item in Nintendogs + Cats that falls under the category of "Furniture" in the Supplies. It can be placed in one of the four corners of your home, and cats will sit on it.
As the description states, it weakly resembles a typical staircase. It holds a dark tan color with dark grey steel around the visible vertexes.

The Step-Chest can be bought from Modo Home in all versions for $800. It is available at the start of Golden Retriever & New Friends, but must be unlocked in all other versions of the game.
