Not to be confused with the Dog Care Book. The Jack Russell Book (Japanese: ジャックラッセルの本 Jack Russell Book) is an item in Nintendogs that falls under the category of "Etc." in the Supplies. It is one of the rarest items that can be found on walks.
Getting the book unlocks the Jack Russell Terrier breed at the Kennel.

This item appears to be a book relating to Jack Russell Terriers, but it cannot be opened or read. It can be thrown across the room and many dogs will play with the book rather than being scared of it.
How to Obtain[]
The Jack Russell Book can very rarely be found on walks as a present. It is recommended to take a dog with high stamina to find this item and look around at the far corners of the map. It can supposedly be found in the Forest or Beach Areas. Another recommendation is having one's dog wear the Lucky Collar and equipping the Clover Clock.
Despite this item's rarity, it only sells for $3.60 at the Secondhand Shop.

- The in-game Jack Russell Book cover for the Japanese versions of Nintendogs is based off a real picture book titled Say Hello! あのこによろしく by Yukio Iwasaki. The story follows the life of a Jack Russell Terrier mother and her three puppies. Though it is a very popular book in Japan, it is unknown to international audiences, which is the reason for the cover being different in those versions of the game.[1]
- The Jack Russell Book is one of three items that unlock breeds in the kennel, the others being the Japanese Print Collar and the Fireman's Hat.
