The Cat Present (Japanese: 子猫のプレゼント Koneko no purezento) is a present only in Nintendogs + Cats. It contains a random item that can be found in a blue-striped box by your kitten if you leave your 3DS alone for a while.
How To Obtain a Cat Present[]
- Leave your 3DS open, on, and alone for 30 to 45 minutes. Do not touch the screen and try not to move the 3DS around. Make sure to keep out of the camera's range since it has motion sensors.
- After 40 minutes or so, tap your kitten's icon on the bottom option screen. One way to know if it's time for this step is if your kitten seems to have disappeared from your house. The camera usually cycles through which pet it focuses on, and when your kitten "disappears," the camera will stop focusing on it.
- Your kitten will come running in through the back door or entrance with a present in its mouth. You may get a common item such as a Stick or an extremely rare item such as a Promise Ring. After the cat comes in, do not continue to leave the 3DS alone, as this will activate the Greedy Kitten glitch and you will not get an item.
- You also have to love and care for your cat(s) so they come up to you to get the rare items such as a promise ring.
